My name is Denise King. I am a native of
Merced and have remained here all of my life.
I am married and have three beautiful children.
I enjoy spending time with my family and especially
like to be outdoors when the weather is nice.
I attended Merced High School and quickly
joined the workforce. I have spent most of
my working life in the business office for
a major automobile dealership. The experience
I acquired while managing the finances for
my previous employer has given me a firm foundation
for operating my own business. Owning a business
has always been a dream of mine, and when
the opportunity came along I felt that it
was the right thing to do for my family and
our community.
Shoe Envy is located in the Promenade Center
between Paulson and Yosemite. Our hours of
operation are Mon-Sat 10-6. We carry men’s,
women’s, and children shoes. Additionally,
we carry a variety of accessories. We like
to think we can offer a little bit of something
to everyone.

Shoe Envy has brought the San Francisco
shopping experience to Merced. We carry brands
like Betsey Johnson, LAMB, Nine West, Jessica
Simpson, Chinese Laundry, Naturalizer, Carlos
Santana, Yellow Box, Ed Hardy, Sketchers, Stacy
Adams, and Dr. Scholl’s. Fashion jewelry
by Trina Tarantino. Purses by Seven for all
Man Kind, Nicole Lee, Ravani and Ed Hardy. Hats
by Brokedown and Ed Hardy.
I am excited to be able to bring these products

GOURMADE
MEALS
Valerie Silva and Rhonda Jenkins are excited
to be apart of bringing home-cooked meals and
the family back to the table. Best friends for
the last 20 years, Valerie and Rhonda wish that
meal assemblies had been around when they were
starting their families. Valerie (Chappell)
was raised in Los Banos and married Ray Silva
(a Los Banos native). Valerie and Ray moved
to Merced about 20 years ago where they have
raised 4 children. Rhonda (Worden) was raised
in Livingston and married Tracey Jenkins (an
Atwater native). Rhonda and Tracey have lived
both in Atwater and Merced for the last 19 years
where they have raised 7 children. Valerie and
Rhonda home schooled all of their children at
one time or another and have been involved in
their families school, church or sport activities.
This brings us to the present passion that Valerie
and Rhonda (with their families help) have jointly
ventured into - GOURMADE
MEALS.

Valerie
and Rhonda believe that it is vital to the family
dynamics to provide a nutritious family mealtime.
They struggled to have meals on the table in
a timely manner each evening even though they
were stay-at-home moms. When they became aware
of this pre-assembled frozen meal concept, they
fell in love with it and just knew they had
to bring this to Merced.
With church, sports, school and everything
else in between, meal time has been pushed to
the back burner. It used to be an afterthought
“What’s for Dinner?” but “No
More!” Just plan on spending 1 or 2 mores
at Gourmade Meals and you will go home with
6 - 12 dinners. These dinners store in the freezer
and all you have to do is pull out the fully
assembled fresh meal. thaw it and cook it. Presto!
You have saved 1 - 2 hours per meal in shopping,
chopping, and cleanup. If you don’t have
time to do the assembly, Gourmade Meals staff
will do it for you (a small extra fee is charged).
