Auburn
State Recreation Area (Auburn)
In the heart of the gold country, the Auburn State
Recreation Area (Auburn SRA) covers over 35,000 acres
along 40-miles of the North and Middle Forks of the
American river.
Calaveras
Big Trees State Park (Calaveras)
Calaveras became a State Park in 1931 to preserve
the North Grove of giant sequoias. This grove includes
the "Discovery Tree", the first Sierra redwood
noted by Augustus T. Dowd in 1852.
Kings
Canyon National Park (Fresno)
Home to giants: immense mountains, deep canyons, and
huge trees. The Generals Highway climbs over 5000
feet from chaparral and oak-studded foothills to the
awe-inspiring sequoia groves. From there, trails lead
to the high-alpine wilderness which makes up most
of these parks. Kings Canyon National Park was the
third park created in our national park system, and
operates as one park with Sequoia National Park because
they share a park boundary.
Sequoia
National Park (Visalia)
Sequoia National Park is an unspoiled treasure of
some of the most striking scenery in the world. From
its towering giant sequoia trees and soaring mountain
peaks to cascading creeks, flowering meadows and star
studded evening skies… you will be inspired
by this masterpiece of nature. Sequoia National Park
was the second park created in our national park system,
and operates as one park with Kings Canyon National
Park because they share a park boundary.
Yosemite National Park (Yosemite National Park)
There is camping available throughout Yosemite National
Park. Camping is a great way to experience the park. |
