| An
easy Internet link to City job openings
MERCED – A new Web link has
made it easier to find a job with the City of Merced.
People can go directly to a list of the City’s
current job openings by using the link -- jobs.CityofMerced.org
“We’re very excited about this new addition,”
said Deneen Proctor, the Director of Support Services,
which oversees the Human Resources Division. “It’s
one more tool to make it easy for people find out about
our jobs.”
The City already posts all of its job openings online,
along with job applications, salary schedules and employee
contracts, but the new link sends people straight to
the open jobs. People also can sign up to be electronically
notified if a new job opening is posted.
There are also other non-electronic ways to find out
about City jobs. All job openings are listed at the
front counter inside the Civic Center at 678 W. 18th
St. Applicants also can fill out an “interest
card” that will be mailed to them if a particular
job opens up.
The City Human Resources Division has been stepping
up its outreach and recruitment efforts. The Division
has attended career days at area schools and conducted
mock interviews to help students get familiar with the
hiring process. The Division also has taken its recruitments
efforts to the UC Merced campus, the Merced County Fair
and Merced Adult School.
For information about job openings visit jobs.CityofMerced.org
or visit the HR Division in the lobby of the Civic Center.
The Division also can be reached by calling 385-6822.
