Name of Organization: Amador Vintners
Category: Main Category
Event: 9th Annual Barbera Festival
Description: Plymouth, CA (July, 2019) –– Amador Vintners will host the 9th Annual Barbera Festival on September 14, 2019 at the historic Terra d’Oro Winery in Amador Wine Country. The outdoor wine and food festival will allow guests to sample Barbera wines from about 60 wineries from across California, enjoy local craft beer, dine on gourmet food from top restaurants and chefs, listen to live music, experience interactive educational programs and peruse offerings from more than 30 artisan vendors all in a beautiful vineyard setting.

The Festival brings the popular Italian winegrape varietal, Barbera, to the spotlight to showcase the varietal that is becoming increasingly popular in California. Although many California producers offer a Barbera varietal, the wine still remains obscure to many U.S. wine enthusiasts.

“Barbera is a staple on many Italian tables and quickly becoming a favorite of wine drinkers in the U.S. Many producers across California are seeing increased popularity of this incredibly flexible, food-friendly grape varietal with new plantings going in every year. It is certainly a favorite here in Amador County and if you have never tried it, or are a Barbera enthusiast, the Barbera Festival is a great place to be,” said Jack Gorman, Executive Director of the Amador Vintners Association.

Located in the Sierra Foothills of California, the Festival takes place in over 4,000 square feet of majestic oak trees and sprawling meadows at the historic Terra d’Oro Winery, home of Montevina. Terra d’Oro boasts some of the oldest plantings of Barbera in California, making it the natural home for the festival. From strolling down the tree-lined path to enjoying renowned artists and musicians, guests receive a relaxing experience with high quality food and wine.

The festival is set for September 14 from 11am - 4pm. General admission tickets are $55, Wine and Dine packages (includes $16 in Barbera Bucks food/drink script) are $70 and designated driver tickets are $25 (includes $10 in Barbera Bucks food/drink script).

The proceeds from the Barbera Festival benefit the Amador Vintners Association (AVA) and its 40+ member wineries consisting of family-owned operations whose proprietors make and sell their own wines and greet visitors in their tasting rooms. The AVA works to promote and support local businesses, beyond just wineries, laying down roots in Amador County. At each of our events, we partner with local businesses and charities to help bring awareness and financial support to Amador County. Visit for details.

Jo Koy "Just Kidding World Tour"
Saroyan Theatre on October 10, 2019
Show Time: 8:00 pm & Door Time: 7:00 pm

Fresno, CA (May 20, 2019) – Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing at a Las Vegas coffee house. As one of today’s premiere stand-up comedians, Koy sells-out theaters and arenas across the world with his infectious and explosive energy onstage. The comedian pulls inspiration from his family, specifically his son, with material that has universal appeal.

In November 2017, the comedian broke a record for the most tickets sold by a single artist at The Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu with 11 sold-out shows and over 23,000 tickets sold. Celebrating this accomplishment, the mayor’s office in Honolulu proclaimed November 24th as “Jo Koy Day.” Koy is also the only comedian to sell out 6 shows at The Warfield in San Francisco, he broke the attendance record at Club Regent Event Centre in Winnipeg with 4 sold-out shows, and is one of the few acts to sellout 2 shows at The Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, FL. In July 2018, Koy was given the prestigious “Stand-Up Comedian Of The Year” award at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal.

Today, the comedian tours around the world and is currently wrapping up his Break The Mold World Tour just in time for his highly anticipated Netflix special, Comin’ In Hot to release June 2019. Koy will launch his Just Kidding World Tour in August 2019 with all new material not on the previous tour or upcoming special.

Koy released his first stand-up comedy album, Live From Seattle and reached #1 on the Billboard Charts. He can also be heard on his weekly podcast, The Koy Pond with Jo Koy by Starburns Audio. Listeners can dive in each week as Koy welcomes friends and fellow comedians to share their hilarious insights on life. For more info on the podcast, album and tour dates, please visit:

TruTV has also greenlit the animated comedy pilot, This Functional Family starring Koy. The half-hour animated project puts Koy at the center of a fractured, patched-up, multiracial, dysfunctional family. It draws upon Koy’s real-life experiences and characters featured in his stand-up.

Later this year, fans can also catch Koy on the silver screen co-starring alongside Brandon Routh and Donna Murphy as “Vladimir Lenin” in the upcoming live-action film, Anastasia.

In 2005, Koy had the opportunity of a lifetime when he performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He became one of a select few comics to receive a standing ovation on the show. Since then, Koy has had three highly rated and successful comedy specials on Comedy Central and Netflix, which includes his most recent Netflix special, Jo Koy: Live from Seattle

Koy has appeared on over 140 episodes of Chelsea Lately as a season regular roundtable guest. Other appearances include: The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Beat Bobby Flay, @Midnight with Chris Hardwick, Spike TV’s Adam Carolla & Friends Build Stuff Live, Celebrity Page TV, VH1, World’s Funniest Fails, Sean In The Wild, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Last Call with Carson Daly.
