PLAYHOUSE MERCED SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM
In June and July of 2009, Playhouse Merced will once again offer its long-standing summer theatre program to the youth of Merced County and beyond! For a fun-filled summer theatre experience that builds confidence, trains young actors and motivates youth to succeed, Playhouse Merced is your one-stop program in downtown Merced! This year, students ages 5-11 will be performing in "101 Dalmatians KIDS," and teenagers from 12-19 will have the opportunity to put together their own live version of "High School Musical 2!"

"101 Dalmatians KIDS" is a 30-minute musical extravaganza filled with highjinks, heists and polka-dotted puppies. Students will attend classes and rehearsals from 9am-12pm daily, Monday-Friday, with the opportunity for theatre-themed pre-care and after-care available. At the end of the three-week session, students will perform a full weekend run of shows, consisting of one Friday night, one Saturday night and one Sunday matinee. June 8-26, performances June 26, 27 & 28. $175 for the entire 3-week session (pre- and after-care extra). Get your kids excited for summer with all their favorite lovable characters from "101 Dalmatians!"

"High School Musical 2," the second in the well-loved contemporary musical series, is a summer experience your teen will never forget! Even students who've never been involved in theatre will find themselves making friends and gaining confidence during this five-week summer camp extravaganza! Students will attend classes and rehearsals from 1pm-5pm, Monday-Friday, for a five-week period of study and rehearsal wherein they'll learn songs and vocal technique, acting exercises and methodology, as well as choreography and a good dance basis for future study. After the five-week period, the cast will be involved in a full weekend run of shows, consisting of one Friday night, one Saturday night and one Sunday matinee. Students may be asked to provide some costume pieces. June 8- July 10, performances July 10, 11 & 12. $300 for the full five weeks. Give your students a chance to be a star this summer, right here on the Main Stage at Playhouse Merced!

Don't wait another moment to bring out the star potential in your kid, your teen, or anybody in between! Please contact Noelle Chandler in the Education Department at 209-725-8587 or Noelle@playhousemerced.com for more information or to register your student for the summer program today!
